Field Shows
The Senators are a marching Drum and Bugle Corps, and to the uninitiated we perform musical routines to choreographed movement. We have a Corps of over 67 members which is broken down into four distinct sections:
- A brass section that has 29 members and features forward facing trumpets, mellophones, baritones and tubas.
- A marching percussion section of 12 members featuring snare drums, toms, bass drums and marching cymbals.
- A concert percussion section of 10, who perform with concert xylophone, vibraphone, marimba, glockenspiel, timpani and auxiliary percussive instruments.
- Finally we have a colour guard section. We have 16 members who add "colour" to the show by performing with flags and imitation rifles as well as adding dance to the production.
Each individual section is then brought together as we create a musical and visual extravaganza by adding movement to the whole package.
The Corps has a long and proud tradition of competition; we are 8 times British Drum Corps Champions and twice European Drum Corps Champions.
