Senators Drum And Bugle Announce Plans for 2006
31 March 2006

Arrangements and briefings outlining the plans for the Senators during the summer of 2006 were finalised and communicated to the Senators Membership at a recent meeting.

The key points are as follows

1 The Corps will have applied for membership of Drum Corps United Kingdom and intend to perform in the Open Class division at the following competitive events.

3rd June Grantham
23rd July Aldershot
10th September Newport
30th/1st October The DCUK Championships

2 The Senators will also be performing on the bill at the East of England Invitational event being held on the 2nd July alongside the Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps and other leading UK and European based Marching Bands and Drum Corps.

3 The Corps will be travelling to mainland Europe on the weekend of 24th/25th June to perform in exhibition with Beatrix Drum and Bugle Corps. This event is being staged in Lille, Northern France.

4 The Senators will be competing in the open class competition at the Drum Corps Europe Championships in The Netherlands on the weekend of 24th/25th September.

5 The Senators will be again travelling to the Netherlands on the weekend of 14th/15th October to perform at the Leewarden Tattoo in the north of The Netherlands.

The Senators Organisation remains committed to embracing their constitutional requirement of promoting the advancement and education of young people in the art of marching music whilst recognising the need to further expand and explore the opportunities for performance available for its committed membership and alumni to further enhance the Senators experience of all.

To this end the Senators Drum and Bugle Corps will be adopting a dual focus policy for 2006 with a combination of an “exclusively youth” and “predominately youth” based membership.

The Senators 2006 summer program is varied and extensive with 8 engagements already secured and diarised and is in line with the organisations commitment of some 18 months ago to transform the Senators from an organisation that exists to compete into an organisation that competes as part of its wider prospectus and program.

A full schedule of events, rehearsals and membership requirements along with more detail and comment with regards to the Senators plans for 2006 has been posted on the schedule page.
