The percussion section will be rehearsing on both 18th & 19th November. The rehearsal is aimed towards people who are interested in taking part in either the Indoor Percussion Ensemble (who will be aiming to retain their CGN European title), and/or the summer Battery and Pit sections. The weekend rehearsal will start on Saturday at 09:30am and will finish at 16:00pm on the Sunday.
In addition to the usual drum corps style instrumentation, the Indoor Percussion Ensemble would like to hear from anyone who has experience with the following:
As well as all 2006 UK percussion staff being present, instruction will also be available over the weekend from both Tim Fairbanks (Rhythm X Caption Head), and Ben Collins (Cavaliers Tenors 2001-2004).
Since the percussion section will be rehearsing for the full weekend, please bring a sleeping bag and any necessary overnight items which you may need (accommodation is provided). If you cannot make the full weekend, don't worry, just contact the relevant caption head (details below).
The Indoor Percussion Ensemble will be rehearsing and performing from 6th January 2007 until 1st April 2007. A full rehearsal schedule and details of costs, etc, can be provided upon request.
Would anyone interested in attending please contact either John McNamara (Percussion Caption Head) or Neil Hyde (Pit Caption Head). Technique/Warm-up manuals, score music and mp3s will also be forwarded before the rehearsal via email.
The 2006 DCE High Brass Winners will be rehearsing on Sunday 19th November only, from 10:00 to 16:00. The rehearsal is aimed towards anyone who is interested in joining the line for the 2007 competitive season.
The full staff line up from 2006 will be returning for the rehearsal, and we plan to field a line in excess of the 29 we had in 2006. The day will introduce you to the Senators brass philosophy, where you will get the opportunity to stand in one of the largest lines in the UK, playing on what we consider to be the best instruments available on the market.
Would anyone interested in attending please contact the brass caption head, Craig Walker. The full 2007 technique manual will be forwarded via email before the rehearsal.
Although Colour Guard rehearsals do not get into full swing until after the WGUK competitive season, there will be Colour Guard staff members available throughout the weekend.
