Senators Drum & Bugle Corps
2009 Show Announcement
2009 sees the Senators celebrates a significant milestone in that it is the Corps 25th Anniversary year. To mark this milestone the Senators are pleased to confirm that our 2009 production will be entitled “REFLECTION”, The members and staff of the Senators look forward to entertaining audiences and adjudicators alike during this very special year.

The Corps long standing Director Joe Fitzpatrick explained the concept in a little more depth” The concept and Inspiration for “REFLECTION” derived from a desire to portray and explore both musically and visually the imagery and emotional interpretation of the word itself. With a working title such as REFLECTION mirror and symmetry style themes were always going to be an obvious and necessary inclusion but there was an understanding that in order to embrace and celebrate the REFLECTION concept the designers would need to incorporate and embrace the tradition, history and present aspirations of the Senators organisation while still keeping the design and implementation of the show at the cutting edge.
The musical choices for the 2009 production include such pieces from the corps history as “On the Waterfront” and “Red Pony”. A completely originally penned prelude entitled “Mirror Mirror” coupled with another first with our last movement “Virtual Insanity/Where do we go from Here” completes the line up giving a mix of tradition, originality and vision.
The working title for each movement is intended to add relevance and support to the varied and diverse interpretation of the various reflective themes. Mirrored Images, Echoes of sound and sight, the contemplation of a reflective mood. Fusion and entanglement reflecting harmony or discord, along with the memories and emerging images that are being born with every step.
